We have expectations for our lunch program that promote everyone’s safety and well-being, and ask children to eat together respectfully as if they were in a ‘restaurant-like’ setting. We ask that students:

• Remain seated during the indoor portion of the lunch hour;
• Talk quietly so that combined voices make it possible for lunch supervisors to be heard easily;
• Eat only the food that the child brought to school. We do not share food—it is a dangerous practice due to food allergies;
• Demonstrate polite table manners;
• Clean up after eating lunch. This includes packing uneaten food in the lunchbox, throwing away garbage, and washing desks;
• Co-operate with all lunch supervisors. We expect all students to be polite, kind, and helpful;
• Do not take food outside during the outdoor recess portion of the lunch hour.

Parents of children registered in the lunch program are required to send a note to the classroom teacher if their child is not staying for lunch at school on any given day. This is to assure the safety and accountability of all children during lunch.

Please note that students who cannot demonstrate appropriate lunch conduct may lose their lunch privileges.
