School Closure

When a heavy snowfall occurs, or when ‘blizzard’ status is declared, please listen to the radio to determine if Pembina Trails School Division schools will be open. You can also find school closure information by going to http://www.cjob.com/Community/Cancellations/Index.aspx and http://www.pembinatrails.ca The decision to close schools is made jointly by the superintendents of all school divisions in Winnipeg. Please note that the school division cancels buses if the weather is – 45° C or colder including the Wind-chill. 

The radio stations may announce that buses will not run, but that school will be open. Under these circumstances, please consider safety first and recognize that, while students may be able to walk to school easily, the school staff comes from many parts of the city and out-of-town, and some staff members may not be able to get to work. Even though school is open, please use your own judgment concerning the attendance of your child, especially if the snowfall occurred overnight.
